Vibe Hotel
Case Study: Vibe Hotel Melbourne Docklands
Shannon Pawsey Photography was engaged by Vibe Hotel Melbourne Docklands to deliver a full photography and videography package for use across social media and in-house guest media. The result is a comprehensive visual asset library designed to serve the property across multiple touchpoints, from digital marketing through to on-site guest communications.
Brief
The hotel required content that could perform across two distinct applications: high-engagement material for social channels, and premium-grade imagery for in-room and on-property use - including welcome screens, guest collateral, and other in-house media. The brief called for a single cohesive shoot capable of producing assets fit for both purposes, without compromising on quality or brand consistency.
Location Context
Vibe Hotel Melbourne Docklands is positioned directly on the Docklands waterfront, within close proximity to Marvel Stadium and the District Docklands precinct. The property's water frontage and skyline outlook were treated as a core asset throughout the shoot, with scheduling built around optimal light conditions to capture the waterfront setting at its strongest.
Scope of Work
The shoot covered the full guest journey through the property:
Guestroom — king suite with floor-to-ceiling glazing and water/city outlooks
DOCK 18 — the hotel's all-day dining restaurant, shot to support food, beverage, and interior marketing
Rooftop pool and wellness facilities — timed for still water and low-light conditions
Lobby, bar, and public areas — the primary first-impression assets for both digital and on-site use
Video content — property walkthroughs and short-form footage formatted for social distribution
Photography and Video as Complementary Assets
Delivering both mediums from a single shoot allowed for a more efficient production process while ensuring visual consistency across the final asset library. Still photography supports detail-led, conversion-focused placements — booking platforms, print collateral, paid media — while video content is better suited to conveying atmosphere and scale, particularly for social and pre-arrival guest communications.
Commercial Outcome
For hospitality operators, visual content is a direct driver of booking conversion. Outdated or inconsistent imagery is a measurable risk to occupancy and rate performance, particularly where guests are comparing properties across multiple platforms within a short decision window. A structured content library — segmented by channel and use case — allows a property to maintain consistent brand presentation across marketing, distribution, and in-house guest touchpoints.
